How it started

In Delhi, every day after lunch, my teacher would read aloud to us. He allowed us to do any silent activity we liked while he read.

One of my friends used to crochet caps and scarves. I asked her if she would teach me. We sat there on the playground following the steps in her book. And in two weeks, I knew all the stitches and was able to crochet without help. My dad got me the same book as my friend had and I was crocheting caps nonstop.

My new school in Mumbai offers Crochet classes and I happily joined the class. Even though I knew how to crochet, I was taught many new skills and tricks that helped me crochet in a neater way.

I crocheted and crocheted caps until I ran out of people to crochet caps for. That’s when my mom and I decided to start making and donating caps for a cause.
